East of Carsington - Peak District Walk

Another local walk done as research for the two magazines I write for. I had been waiting for a day with bright blue skies in the hope of getting some good photos of Carsington Reservoir and I wasn't disappointed today. What I hadn't expected was the great views across the Ecclesbourne Valley.
Start: Millfields car park (SK 2476 4990)
Route: Millfields car park - Hays Lane - Kirk Ireton - Moorside - Callow - Carsington Reservoir - Millfields car park
Distance: 7 miles Ascent: 259 metres Time Taken: 4 hours
Terrain: Good paths, quiet lanes and fields. Lots of stiles.
Weather: Warm and sunny.
Pub Visited: None Ale Drunk: None

Holy Trinity Church in Kirk Ireton is Norman in origin.
Heading uphill at Moorside. I had to be quick taking this photo, as they came over to investigate what I was up to.
From the top of the hill the views opened up. Here looking across to Alport Height.
There were also great views along the Ecclesbourne Valley.

As I approached Millfieid car park I came across this unusual house.
Everything is made of wood.
Even the picture above the fireplace.
